Spring is a beautiful time of year in Sunapee, New Hampshire. As the snow melts away and the weather warms up, the area comes alive with activities, events, and stunning scenery. The best part? As it’s the slowest season in the area, you’ll feel like you have the place all to yourself. No worries about waiting in line for anything!
If you’re planning a visit to Sunapee during spring, here are some must-do activities.
1: Go for a Hike
Mount Sunapee is a popular hiking destination year-round, but it’s particularly beautiful in the spring when wildflowers are in bloom. There are several trails to choose from that range from easy to difficult. Other trails in New London and around the area offer scenic hikes as well: check our list here.
2: Get Creative
The Creation Place offers paint-your-own pottery, signs and other artistic pursuits. Retail sales of resin art, gifts, and unique home goods as well. Group classes and birthday parties. Walk-ins are welcomed, call for details on classes, hours and other questions.
3: Take a Scenic Drive
Sunapee is surrounded by picturesque countryside, and a scenic drive is a great way to take it all in. The Lake Sunapee Scenic Byway is a 40-mile route that takes you through quaint New England towns and past stunning views of the mountains.
4: Walk Around a Working Farm
Musterfield Farm is a gem of a working farm located between Mount Kearsarge and King Ridge, covering 250 acres of fields and woods. The original homestead, farm buildings and schoolhouse are all lovingly preserved and open for visitors.
